Legends of Runeterra commit to refocus on PvP over Path of Champions

The Legends of Runeterra teams are focusing their attention back on competitive gameplay and making great progress in the mode of Path of Champions.

On patch 3.8, there was an update to LoR Patch of Champions’ PvE mode and an update to Worldwalker expansion. The update to the Path of Champions was announced in the Legends of Runeterra roadmap. Riot also cancelled the broadcasts for the new season, but reversed the decision to allow the Curious Journey Seasonal tournament.

Today’s official announcement by Dave Guskin, executive producer, reaffirmed the recent decision of the LoR team to make PvP an important part of digital card games and is now the main focus of Path of Champions 2.0 development. PoC-mode is an excellent mobile mode that improves Legends of Runeterra. If costs are lower, new systems will be used. However, the focus on pvP is to blame.

Guskin stated that instead of continuing to divide the focus of games between core PvP, and The Path of Champions we decided to hyper-serve our core PvP players.

Guskin says that PvP games will be the focus of regular balance updates and development towards new expansions.

Riot and the Path of Champions devs want to support other projects, either in development or already underway. Guskin claims that a new LoR roadmap will fail this summer, and detailed plans are being made for future expansions and balance updates throughout the year.
