Box office result Sonic the Hedgehog 2 before Morbius

Last weekend saw two major theatrical releases in Germany: Sonic the Hedgehog and Mobius. The sequel to the feature film topped the charts. Sonic2 earned a total amount of 1.8million euros and attracted 225,000 people to the cinemas. The film’s comic adaptation Mobius came in second, with 170,000 viewers and 1.65million euros.

Things are going well for Batman in Germany. The film received almost the same number of visitors as the previous week, with 110,000 viewers and 1.2million euros. It is also the highest-rated film in terms of viewership, with 1.45 million admissions. The Die Gangster Gang (115,000 visitors, 770,000 euros) is also in the top five. The anime Jujutsu Kaisen 1 (455,000 visitors, 580,000 euros) completes the top 5.

Morbius was able to secure the number one spot in the US box-office charts, despite Sonic2 not starting until this week. The film, which cost $39.1million, was below expectations. Venom, and venom: Let There Be Carnage, both set in the same movie universe had a better start, at $80 million each, and $90 million respectively. After the first weekend, Morbius has reached $ 84 millions worldwide. This is partially offset by a relatively small budget of just 75 million dollars.

Second in the US is the action comedy The Lost City, which earned $14.8 million its second weekend. The film will not be released in Germany until April 21st. The Batman was also third in the USA. It was sufficient to earn 10.8 million dollars at the box office. The film’s worldwide box office total has reached 710 million dollars. It was followed by Uncharted (3.6 million dollars) and Jujutsu Kaisen (2 million).
