Gotham Knights still on track for 2022, Warner Bros says

Warner Bros. confirmed that Gotham Knights, the long-awaited Batman spinoff, will still be released in 2022.

Jason Kilar, WarnerMedia boss, reiterated in a series tweets last evening that both Hogwarts Legacy (and Gotham Knights) would be released this calendar year, despite the fact that they both have vague “2022 launch windows.”

Kilar stated that Warner’s “this mission, this strategy continues” in ’22 with an urgency. He also spoke of Warner’s media strategies, including “launching HBO Max into many more countries this quarter, and the balance of this year, launching CNN+ and delivering a full slate highly anticipated games.”

Gotham Knights, the next Batman: Arkham Oranges game studio Warner Bros. Montreal is the first complete release of the team in over eight years.

It takes place in the aftermath of Batman’s presumed suicide and lets you play as Nightwing/Batgirl/Robin/Red Hood as they clean up Gotham and protect it.

The game was due sooner – teases about its shadowy Court of Owls group started back in 2019 before things went quiet. Its expected 2021 date was delayed by at least 12.

Warner’s marketing machine picked up late last year with a trailer appearing at DC Fandome, , giving us a glimpse of the Court of Owls, and Penguin.

Perhaps most importantly, Kilar doesn’t mention Warner’s other major DC Comics game: Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad : Kill the Justice League. It too is currently sitting with a vague date of “2022”, for now.
