Halo and Doom devs are making a new Unreal Engine 5 FPS game

Certain Affinity, which includes ex-Bungie developers who worked on Halo Infinite and Doom and Call of Duty, is currently working on a new FPS in Unreal Engine 5.

Ex-Bungie developers who worked on Halo Infinite have started work on a new FPS game. It is based on Unreal Engine 5. Certain Affinity worked on games such as Halo, Doom and Call of Duty and now the team is working on an original FPS game.

According to certain LinkedIn Pages, Certain Affinity is currently working on a “new and original IP”. This was spotted by @IdleSloth84. Further details are available in the job listing for the new IP’s game directors position. This game is an original IP first-person shooter and a games as a service title. It’s not surprising, considering the team’s previous experience with Halo Infinite multiplayer and Destiny.

The listing says that “we’re best-known for co-developing many AAA FPS games,” but “now we are creating compelling new game designs.”

Apart from working on new “exciting” content for Halo Infinite, and possibly even a possible battle-royale mode, Certain Affinity is also believed to be helping with the development Microsoft’s stalled Perfect Dark reboot. It’ll be fascinating to see the first original IP of Certain Affinity, as the studio has assisted with multiplayer, Call of Duty, Halo, and other Halo games.
