House of the Dragon New trailer and character poster released

In less than four months House of the Dragon will be celebrating it’s US premiere. In addition to a brand-new 90-second teaser trailer HBO also unveiled a number of characters posters to promote The Game of Thrones prequel series.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s classic novel Fire and Blood The ten-part show will tell the story of House Targaryen and their demise. About 200 years prior to what transpired in Game of Thrones The noble family ruled the entirety of Westeros by bringing in dragons and then fell, only to lose the battle because of internal family disputes. In the middle of the battle will be half siblings Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) both of whom claim the throne as their own following dying the father of their family, Viserys (Paddy Considine).

The show’s creators include Miguel Sapochnik, who has been directing some of the most exciting Episodes in Game of Thrones (“Battle of the Bastards”) and Ryan Condal ( Colony ) who wrote the concept for the series as well as the screenplays along alongside George RR Martin. The soundtrack to the show that Ramin Djawadi has been in charge, is just as important. Djawadi was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for his work on Game of Thrones .

House of the Dragon is celebrating its US debut on August 21st . In addition to the US show, the series will also be broadcast in Germany-speaking countries. It will air through Sky Ticket and Sky Q in the evening of the 22nd of August, either on German as well as in its original German. The show for Sky Atlantic will follow at 8:15 p.m.
