NIS announces September Showcase with new game reveals and more

NIS has unveiled a September show that promises updated games, new releases, and much more.

NIS is a short form to mean Japanese creator and publishing company Nippon Ichi Software, which has revealed a brand new game showcase scheduled for September 7, 2022. The stream will be via Twitch at 8 AM Pacific time. Be sure to follow NIS their official Twitch channel here.

The fans can look forward to four new games announcements and updates and a Livestream right after the showcase “and more”. This is the official teaser video trailer of this year’s NIS America showcase:

Uninitiated viewers might be a bit surprised by the new trailer for the teaser that features voice actors giddy with excitement saying “good” throughout. It certainly seems strange and awkward if you don’t know the ins and outs of baseball.

Then, NIS is perhaps most well-known for their strategy RPG collection Disgaea which has penguin-like creatures known as “Prinnies”. These animals make use of “good” all the time to talk in-game, and they are Prinny is the most prominent face of NIS.

Naturally, the fans are looking forward to hearing about a brand new Disgaearelease within the US. However, even as the series that is the flagship for NIS it took a long time to wait for Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny to come out, and the game was released in 2021 only a few days ago. While critics were less than enthusiastic about the game, the fans were happy enough.

The announcement comes in conjunction with the US publication of Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 3: La Pucelle and will finally bring the musical La Pucelle: Ragnarok to the West and Rhapsody An Musical Adventure. The collection was first announced just a few months ago with a teaser trailer, which is available to review here if you’re not familiar with the names:

Rhapsody is a component of Marl Kingdom Which is another trademark franchise from NIS. Unfortunately, the EU must wait another couple of days for Volume 3 to launch on September 2nd.
