On June 1, the Personal Data Protection Act will take effect. It is Thailand’s first step towards becoming a country that values individual rights. However, there are a few misunderstandings of the law. It is a violation to personal information.

 

PDPA and the Personal Data Protection Act : will be in effect. 1. Photographing other people is not allowed. PDPA

Answer: When taking a photograph – attaching another person to the original photo – taking the clip with no intention. The clip is not intended to cause any damage to the subject being photographed. This can only be done if the clip is being used for personal reasons.

2. It is a violation of the PDPA if you upload a clip or photo to another person to post on social networks without their consent.

Answer You can comment. If it is used solely for personal reasons, it is not intended for commercial gain. It does not cause any damage to the person who owns the information.

3. Installed CCTV cameras and no PDPA warning signs

Answer: Warning signs are not required for installing CCTV cameras in a house. To prevent crime and keep you safe, please contact the homeowner.

4. Before any use of personal data, the owner must consent.

A: Consent is not required. If such information is used, consent must be given.
