Upcoming Kingdom Hearts mobile game Missing Link will have connections to Kingdom Hearts 4

Tetsuya Nomura, Kingdom Hearts director, has stated that the forthcoming mobile game Missing Link will link to Kingdom Hearts 4.

In an interview with Game Informer, Nomura talked about Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link. He said: “Compared to previous mobile releases, it is a lot closer and also connects in many ways to Kingdom Hearts 4. Missing Link was revealed during the Kingdom Hearts’ 20th-anniversary celebration. It will reportedly launch as a closed beta later in the year.

Nomura said that the best way to find out more information and hints about Kingdom Hearts 4 is to first play Missing Link. “I understand that not everyone is into smartphone games so some fans may not be excited about it but we’re making it something that everyone can jump into.”

Kingdom Hearts X, also known as ‘Unchained X” or ‘Dark Road), provided a lot more context for Kingdom Hearts 3. These smaller titles seemed to complicate an already complicated story, especially if they were not incorporated into Kingdom Hearts 3. It’s great to see that Nomura is considering new fans with Missing Link.

Nomura doesn’t appear to be leaving Kingdom Hearts X in favor of Kingdom Hearts 4, as the trailer shows that Strelitzia makes an appearance, after having mostly appeared in Kingdom Hearts X. It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the past Kingdom Hearts efforts of Nomura before you release Kingdom Hearts 4.

In the interview, Nomura also gave insight into the future Final Fantasy in Kingdom Hearts 4.
