Talk to Friends – How to Talk about Phasmophobia
Prerequisites: Make sure you have properly set up your microphone and that your friends and you are in the same game or lobby.

It’s possible that they are using Push to Talk. To be heard, you must press a button or key.

Talk to Ghost – How to Talk in Phasmophobia
Ghost is unique because it can listen to you even when you don’t press push to talk. It will also listen when you push to talk.
However, ghost players cannot communicate with living players. If you are the ghost, you will not be able to hear the rest.
