Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain – All Medicinal Plants Location Guide

Each map is a separate one for the Outpost, Guard Post and adjacent areas with the plant’s location identified.

About This Guide

General Plants Info

There are 8 medicinal plants available across the globe. If you have a strong enough Intel team, they will alert you to any nearby plants, and they will be marked temporarily on your map. By selecting DD as a friend can also enable him to assist in locating plants. When you leave the area, it will take the icon off your map, while selecting the plant will permanently save it in your maps. Plants will grow again when you finish a few missions, which means you can grow plants and accomplish other objectives.

The detection systems aren’t very excellent, and even at rank A for plant surveying (my currently Intel Level is 85) the updates don’t appear to be available until you’re 40m of a particular plant. Additionally, DD isn’t often able to find plants, and at times they’re more than 150m behind as you’re trying to escape them. You’ll also be alerted by your Intel team or DD when they find plants you’ve already identified and placed the map. Therefore, I thought that these maps would be helpful to anyone who wants to get a map that has every marker or to cultivate specific plants.

Reading the Maps

The maps are based on the topographical view, which is with the view facing North as it’s the default view.

If more than one plant similar to each other are present in the same spot the area is identified by “x2” or however many plants are in the area, directly just to the right the icon of the plant. If multiple plants are in one location it’s identified with a generic plant icon and a number, and a second key that indicates the nature and the total number of plants in that particular spot.

Plant Search

Each map is followed by an index of the plants that are in stock and in what amounts in the area , to ensure that they are in line with the maps. And if you’re seeking something specific, you can use CTRL+F search.

In general, it’s simpler to cultivate in the Angola-Zaire region because there’s plenty of plants and it’s much easy to get around since it’s mostly flat instead of walking around the cliffs and mountains of Afghanistan.

There are three plants in the area of no access at Munoko ya Nioka Station, further details are provided with the map.

What Do They Actually Look Like?

This is what the plants appear to be like when they are in the field. Since the icons may not always show up in a timely enough fashion to allow markers and if you’re having difficulty finding plants amongst of all the other foliage You can make use of your NVG to help them stand out more.

DGP x1 The plants highlighted in red are situated beyond the boundaries of the map and cannot be accessed through without exploits. I did some research on the internet and discovered ways to acquire these plants, so I made the steps to obtain the plants you need if you’d like to add them to your map.

Closing

I searched each site several times to make sure I found all the plants to appear. However, due to the nature of the less than ideal surveying techniques and even after walking both inside and outside of at one outpost for a good 10 minutes, I could often discover new plants the following day when I checked back. If I’ve did not find any plants, please inform me and I’ll try my best to have it up to date quickly.

Hope this guide is useful to someone!
