Starcom Nexus trading details.
Introduction and Methodology
You should note that every species/race you can trade in Starcom Nexus will have its own reserve currency. These are listed in the same order when you’re in a trading session. The reserve currency that was removed from the list is now at the top of your window. Trading overflows are drawn from your currency reserve (up to the limit you have) or from their unlimited reserve if you’re trading.

You will notice that the resource list is not listed in the same order you see the trade windows if your press Q. They are listed alphabetically in the trading windows, but they are not in alphabetical order. This guide will adhere to the non-alphabetical order as it appears in trading windows.
There are many ways to determine if a trade is effective or wasteful due to the complicated network of ratios involved with calculating true trade values. This is made even more complicated by the fact you will get slightly different trade values from different trading partners.
To get meaningful values, I collected data from around a dozen different trading value for each species. However, the variation isn’t too great. Trading values fluctuate depending upon the amount you have available to trade with your partner. The smallest amount is for a scoutship, and the most for a planet. It is also interesting to note that the spread in price between the selling and buying prices tends to be fairly consistent.

The Citadel, for example, will buy at prices 27%-31% above their selling price, while the Saurid, on the other hand, will only pay 10-12% more than their selling price.
I began to put a lot of numbers into a spreadsheet, and then did calculations that would have been difficult to explain using text. These are my final results for universal conversions.

Trading guidelines for profit
These are some quick guidelines to help you trade. These blocks will help you approach every trade and ensure that you always make a profit. Each species will have one commodity, which you can sell off or exchange for other resources. You can usually buy most resources at fair market value, or at a reasonable discount. You should not attempt to sell the resources at a discount and use them for anything else.
Below I will break down each species’ 8 resources. These can be sold exorbitantly, or for fair market value. The following blocks can be used to help you trade with each species.
