The PlayStation VR2 hardware will be playable for the first time at Tokyo Game Show.
Capcom has announced that the PlayStation VR2 version of Resident Evil Village will be available for play at the event in the coming month. This will be the first time that players be able to test the current generation headset.
An official tweet of the Japanese Resident Evil Biohazard’s account reads: “Tokyo Game Show 2022 Capcom booth information for the exhibition including the PlayStation VR2 version of Resident Evil Village will be displayed. Enjoy the most immersive experience by being a part of Dumitrescu Castle.”
The tweet was retweeted later on the official Japanese PlayStation account and included: “This will be the first chance for PlayStation gamers to experience PlayStation VR2. Come by this booth at Tokyo Game Show 2022 Capcom booth.”
Sony confirmed earlier this week that PlayStation VR2 will release in “early 2023”, but the PS VR2 version of Resident Evil Village is yet to be given an announcement date.
PlayStation’s State of Play presentation in June showed it was revealed that Resident Evil Village would be going to be transferred to the forthcoming PS5 VR headset in totality.
At the time of the announcement the producer Tsuyoshi Kanda declared: “The PS VR2 system is currently under development which means that Resident Evil Village will be equipped to deliver a more immersive experience by making the most of the stunning graphics that are possible thanks to the VR2’s HDR display in 4K Eye tracking technology from PlayStation VR2 as well as PS5’s 3D Audio, and much more.
Alongside the PS VR2 headset, it’s also possible to use also the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers to depict each hand’s position in the world. You can try guarding with both arms. Ethan will protect similarly; you can hold a gun, and Ethan will stand up with his.
“You can also now to carry out dynamic actions like firing your weapon when holding your knife in your other hand or holding a gun with one hand while holding shooting a shotgun in the other. These sophisticated controllers improve players’ immersion in playing.”
This month, Capcom revealed that it would stream two online presentations at Tokyo Game Show.
The first event, Capcom Online Program, will be held on the 15th of September at 10:00 am ET or 3 pm BST and will include “all the latest Capcom news”.
The second presentation is devoted entirely to Street Fighter 6 It will be held on September 16th at 11 am ET/4 pm BST.
