Marvels Midnight Sun The XCOM strategy didn’t work according to Developers New Gameplay

Jake Solomon, responsible game director, stated that Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ combat system should be based first on the large internal model XCOM. Solomon stated that this approach didn’t work.

The executive game director Jake Solomon spoke briefly about Marvels Midnight Suns, the strategy title, and the work of Firaxis.

In a conversation with GameSpot English-speaking colleagues, Japanese revealed that the combat system for Marvels Midnight Suns was originally designed to be similar to XCOM’s in-house model. Attacks can fail more often in XCOM than they do in Marvels Midnight Suns. It was terrible to think about the concept Solomon described in Marvels Midnight Sun.

THE COMBAT SYSTEM HAS BEEN UPDATED.

We realized that we didn’t feel like heroes, even though we were angry. Solomon continued, “It just seemed terrible.” The Firaxis developers decided to randomly assign hero abilities in order to keep certain aspects of unpredictability. This allows opponents to not only gain access to the environment but also make it more difficult for them. You can even inflict harm on your opponents by your own actions, which is the worst possible.

Solomon continued, “It creates a new type of tension.” It’s almost as painful as XCOM, I believe. This is often referred to as a madhouse of thought. If anyone can help me, it is clear that this puzzle is much more enjoyable to solve. It’s not that something is wrong.

Marvels Midnight Suns will release on October 7, 2022 for PC and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S. The mechanics of the game are explained in this latest version.
