Studio Trigger’s cyberpunk Edgerunners trailer sleek and violent. It’s also infused with a fresh view of the dark and bleak nighttime world. Night City.

The Cyberpunk 2077 anime is releasing an official trailer out now and there’s a lot to absorb. Cyberpunk Edgerunners is an anime show developed by the studio that made Kill la Kill and Fire Emblem Fates. It features an old-fashioned degree of hyperviolence as well as an entirely new perspective regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City.

In Cyberpunk mythology, “edgerunners” are people who live at the edges of society, navigating by engaging in legal and ethically questionable actions that generally have a high degree of risk. The stand-alone series of 10 episodes scheduled to premiere on Netflix this fall, follows the tale of David who takes on everything in order to be one of Night City’s criminal agents.

This trailer is an flurry of intense images, beginning with a blast of blood and bullets leading to David sitting in bed writhing while he tries out a brand new form of braindance. “You have to become an elite and reach the top floor at Arasaka Tower,” the voice tells us.

It’s best to view it yourself, though be aware of the NSFW images on the screen.

The trailer also introduces to the remaining members cast members of Edgerunners cast, which includes Maine, Dorio, Kiwi, Pilar, Rebecca, and Lucy. Edgerunners will be available on Netflix in September.
