The project has become quieter again after was announced last year the film adaptation of The Hunger Games X : A Song of Birds and Snakes would be continuing. The plan is becoming more precise. The prequel has now found its leading lady.
As Zegler announced via social media, Rachel Zegler was the winner. In a post, she wrote that the first letters of each word spell out Lucy Gray Baird. This was the name of one the main characters.
The Hunger Games X – A Song of Birds and Serpents takes place decades before the main series and will tell the story of Coriolanus Snow’s teenage years, before he became the tyrannical president of Panem. Snow is only 18 years old at the start of the book. He has witnessed his family’s decline over the past few years. He is a mentor in the 10th Hunger Games and tries to restart his life, but he discovers that he must care for Lucy, a District 12 girl.
Filming will begin in the new year. The film will be released in theaters by the end of 2023 or early 2024. No specific date has been set. Lawrence, who has previously directed films 2 through 4, of the main series’ main series, will again be the director. Michael Arndt ( Little Miss Sunshine) will write the screenplay. Suzanne Collins, a book author, will provide the treatment. Arndt follows this guideline.
