Game Pass Friends and Family reportedly discovered on Xbox backend

The logo of ‘ Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family’ was reportedly discovered, suggesting an official multi-user subscription might be on the way.

The supposed logo of the service was discovered by @ALumia_Italia, who is a Twitter fan who scrapes Xbox backend.

In the last month, Microsoft revealed that they were testing a new level that is part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in Ireland and Columbia that will allow members to use their membership to multiple members.

It is believed that the new level of service will be referred to as Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family when it starts.

The Xbox Game Pass Insider Preview’ allows players who reside in Ireland as well as Colombia the ability to “add up to four people to their subscription, all with their own unique access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games, content, and benefits,” Microsoft said earlier this month.

Although those who join an Insider subscription do not have to be members of the Insider program, they require to be able to live within the exact nation as the Insider is adding them to the subscription, effectively making the trial limited only to Ireland and Colombia at the moment.

It is also possible that this new system will cost more compared to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in the event that it is released to all Xbox gamers in the near future.

“Joining the Game Pass Insider Preview will convert the time remaining on your membership to time in the new plan, based upon the monetary value of the old membership,” is the text of the Xbox blog outlining the plans.

“For instance, a complete one month’s worth in Ultimate is converted into just 18 consecutive days with this plan. So, you don’t lose any value of your existing membership after the conversion. The conversion is final and members have to wait until the duration of their new membership to run out before resuming their old membership.”

If this calculation were to be repeated when the plan becomes available across all players, this would be about $225 per month on the “family plan, as compared to the $15 monthly cost for Game Pass Ultimate.
