The League of Gentlemen Extraordinary takes place in an alternate Victorian age and brings together a variety of literary characters. Mina Murray is a British Intelligence employee who assembles a team which includes Dr. Jekyll, Mr Hyde and Allan Quatermain, the Invisible Man. Fu Manchu and Moriarty are among the other characters that the team will face.

In 2003, the popular comic series was first made for cinema. Sean Connery was cast as Allan Quatermain in the film. This was his last acting role. Although the producers took many liberties with the adaptation, the final result was only moderately successful. There have been many attempts to remake the Hulu production.
