The owner of Rockstar Games disagrees with the fact that they put their Games on Subscription on Day One

Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, who also owns Rockstar Games believes it is logical to allow their games to be placed on the Xbox One platform. Xbox Game Pass, which is an innovative feature that everyone can use, is very much in demand. Developers are searching for a solution, just as much as the content. Sniper Elite 5 is releasing every day on Xbox Game Pass. However, some other titles have chosen to return to the service for months or even years after their launch. Certain games benefit greatly from being easily accessible. This allows for word of mouth to spread and empowers players to purchase more content in-game. However, there are still companies who don’t believe this is a good approach for their titles.

Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive CEO, spoke to GamesIndustry.com recently about the subscription model that offers day-and-date access. He expressed doubts. Zelnick stated that Take-Two supports subscriptions for as long as is reasonable, especially for older titles that have had price reductions. Zelnick stated that Sony disagrees with this sentiment. Zelnick was referring to Sony’s recent statement, in which they said that they wouldn’t add first-party games to its tiered PlayStation Plus service from day one as it doesn’t make economic financial sense. The Take-Two CEO said that they are open to changing their thinking in the near future, if that is a change in the mind or if they made a mistake in moving in that direction. However, with the current version, they continue to use older titles in these services.

Zelnick stated that Zelnick has supported many subscription services and is happy to continue doing so. “Our skeptical approach has focused on making consoles available 24 hours a day. We don’t believe this is a good idea economically. Why would consumers pay for it?

Rockstar Games released the remastered Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas version on Xbox Game Pass in the first day on November 20, 212. In the absence of this service, the title was not made available as a standalone title. It could be used to encourage players to purchase the whole remastered trilogy. This subject will be a great topic for a second day of full time journalism.

Are you in agreement with Zelnick?
